I had a part in helping make this wee groovy feature advertisement about the rockin-hot Coolest Capital in the World- Wellington. The only uber funky, creative town I know where you can see the milky way at night, dine out on gorgeous international cuisine, boogie to beats, cruise around thought provoking art and culture, experience an ever changing palate of weather, wander safe & freely and be however you feel ya wanna be.

Welly you are a special beautiful dame, & I'm proud to have called you home XO

Here's a great list of 50 FREEeee and fantastic things ya can do in my stomping ground:

Get thee to The City Gallery and Te Papa Museum

Walk round the Botanic Gardens

Go to the Weta Cave in Miramar - this is where the costumes and props are created for films such as Lord of the Rings and King Kong

Chill out like a hipster at Frank Kitt's park

Go round the bays and have a picnic at Scorching Bay

Visit the Marine Education Centre at Island Bay and see lots of sea creatures

Jump off a wharf into the sea. Particularly if it's mid-winter. Or just swim in the ocean

Drive through the Victoria Tunnel and beep your horn. (Full of especially exuberant drivers)

Walk up to Mount Victoria for a wonderful view of the city

Do a day trip by train, car or motorbike over to the Wairarapa and check out the vineyards & amazing cuisine on offer in Martinborough, Greytown and Featherston.

Walk out to Red Rocks and see the seals

Go for a stroll around the scenic Island Bay

Go outside on a clear night and look at the stars

Drive or walk up to the Brooklyn wind turbine

Get to The Lighthouse Cinema on Wigan St and watch a cool movie

Walk along the waterfront and see if you can spot all the poetry blocks set along the shore

Tuesday nights go to Frank Kitts Park and check out the fire dancers’ fire spinning

Look around the Petone shops and do some serious op shop/ vintage hunting there, on Cuba St, in Newtown and Thorndon.

Check out the National War Museum

Play free pool at Shooters / The Grand

If you’re a bookworm, visit Wellington's Public Library

Enjoy live music at Havana, Laundry and Matterhorn

Walk up Cuba Street - Trendy cafes, shops, bars and always something eclectic going on

Take a walk down Ascot Street and check out some of Wellington's original buildings

Walk along the Skyline from Mt Kaukau (just above Khandallah) to Crofton Downs (the most spectacular views!) and have a drink and a meal in The Village

Drive out to Eastbourne and check out the sweet beaches and on the way visit The Dowse Gallery in Lower Hutt and/ or pop over to Pataka Museum in Porirua

Take a tour of the Beehive / Parliament buildings

Get wet at the Bucket Fountain on Cuba Street

Visit the Cable Car Museum

Drive to the F69 shipwreck

Go into the wild in Otari – Wilton's bush native botanic garden.

Visit Mount Kaukau

Check out the fine architecture of Parliament house

Walk the Bolton Street Cemetery if you are brave

Watch the Wellington Cable Car in action from the top of Kelburn

If you have a car (or hire a motorbike!), take a lovely drive around Days Bay
