Perfect weather on Sunday instigated me jumping on the bike and travelling to Wanganui to meet with Lyndsay Patterson and Katie Brown of Chronicle Glass.
Seeing glass being worked first hand was a unique sensory experience. The heat, the vivid lucid and changing colours, the fluid choreography of movements required between the artists to create a work; their movements in unison and simpatico. I wasn't expecting the mesmerising effect of seeing this first hand!
Chronicle Glasses location was previously a printing press. It's subterranean layout works perfectly as a glass studio allowing adequate room for furnaces, movement and for visitors to view the process from seating above.
