Halloween 2023 Macaron and Wormy Cake Pops From homemade marzipan tongues & worms, to fondant lips (which look like they have had a few too many shots of #juvederm).. to the buttercream flowers, the macaron’s they attached to and their gourmet fillings- all made with most premium organic ingredients I can get my little werewolf paws upon these Mac’s & pop’s are sure to delight and intrigue!
The decadent macaron flavours this year are spiced German buttercream (like a fancy slightly savoury pumpkin spice-ish vibe) enveloping a homemade salted caramel & Jelly Tip a nostalgic New Zealand favourite; French vanilla buttercream circling a raspberry coulis center + shavings of dark chocolate- sooo much farkin yuuuuum
The cake pops are homemade French Vanilla confetti cake dipped in premium white chocolate, then wrapped in Halloween pressed fondant and filled with vanilla & raspberry buttercream pansy’s, roses & leaves. Check out the little wormies squirming out of them!
When I wanted to make water & blood droplets on the macarons, I used isomalt, which although was my first time trying this out, I really enjoyed.. although I did melt my favourite mixing bowl lol. Everything you see there is edible (except for the rice and stand of corse!) including the ghosts which were chocolate filled with choc fudge and caramel, the rocks- edible chocolate, and the pumpkins and cactus!

I was a very busy beaver at the end of last year with my edible art- so much so that I didn’t complete the blog post to share about what I made!!

All of my baking is made using only the finest organic, local and artisanal ingredients- 2024 was a magnificent year meeting other producers, retail outlets and artists making amazing edible products here in New York. I can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store!

Art and luxury have gone hand in hand together forever.
Just like champagne and strawberries, some things are just meant to be paired. So there was no question when I decided to marry two of my favourite things; drawing and scarves that I would choose to immortalise these on cashmere.
A facet of my formal academic education is in Textile design, a medium I had moved away from in the last few years, leaning more towards fine art techniques and methodologies. Yarns, textures, embroidery, and fabric fascinates me and I find nothing more satisfying than being able to wear one of my artworks.
My travels through India, Kashmir, and Asia in 2017 culminated with my design ideas paring with new relationships in textile manufacturing. I was enraptured with the qualities of cashmere I could source, the traditional and modern textile application techniques I saw being used, the developments in printing that have happened over the last few years, and the vibrancy of the yarns and dyes I could work with. Fortified with vision, deeply inspired, and motivated to create a product of exceptional quality, I returned to NZ to create the masterpieces you can own today.
‘Moena Moxham’ scarves are uni-sex, transgenerational and very versatile. They can be worn as a dress, trussed or tied with a belt as a top, worn as a traditional scarf, shrugged on as a shawl or simply used as a blanket on long-haul flights or overnight excursions.
A statement on their own or to bring colour and pattern to a simple outfit, scarves have always been an essential item for the minimalist traveller and fashionista.
